Winter Program at the Salem Public Library

posted Jan 24, 2018, 1:15 PM by Brush College

This winter, we have two reading programs that we believe will be of special interest to your students and families. First, we have our Snuggle Up Reading Club in February, which encourages families to keep track of reading or listening to stories together for at least 15 minutes every day in February. They can then turn in their completed reading calendar in March to earn a free book for each participating child. Families are invited to register by January 31st either online at http://bit.ly/SPLSnuggleUp2019  or at the Salem Public Library Youth Services Ask Here Desk.

The other program is a brand new STEAM-based opportunity called “March into Non-Fiction Reading Challenge”. Readers and listeners (ages 0 - 18) are invited to take the non-fiction reading challenge. They are encourage to read books from a variety of non-fiction categories in March, keep track on a Dewey log, and in April, turn in their completed reading log in exchange for a new non-fiction book to keep. Sign-ups for this challenge will begin mid-February online or at the Youth Services or Teen Ask Here Desks.
